Regular Season Round 28: Castello - Prat 94-79

Date: March 17, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Castello's (12-16) home victory over 14th ranked CB Prat (10-18) in Castellon 94-79 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-79. Castello looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by point guard Joan Faner (176-90) who scored that evening 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Kyle Cooper (201-93, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) supported him with 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Castello's coach Toni Ten used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points and 7 assists by guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) did not help to save the game for CB Prat. Power forward Gerbert Marti (203-91) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Castello moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Caceres. CB Prat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Castello will meet Magia Huesca (#17) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. CB Prat will play against the league's leader Gipuzkoa having rather not much hope for a victory.
