Second Stage Round 7: Tobol - Kazygurt 89-88

Fourth-ranked Kazygurt (4-14) was very close to win a game against first ranked Tobol (14-4) in Kostanay. Tobol managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected easier game. Tobol players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Anton Bykov (200-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Vasiliy Petrashinets (198-89) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side forward Zhandos Kaliyev (197-93) responded with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ulykbek Polatov (189-98) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tobol maintains first place with 14-4 record. Kazygurt at the other side keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Tobol will play against Almat.Legion (#3) in Alma-Ata in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kazygurt will play on the road against Almat.Legion in Alma-Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
