There was no surprise when 9th ranked Lleida Basquet (15-13) lost to seventh ranked Leyma Basquet (17-11) in Coruna 71-83 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-71. The winners were led by Serbian guard Filip Djuran (195-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian center Gediminas Zyle (210-88, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) did not help to save the game for Lleida Basquet. Point guard Jose Simeon (187-91) added 8 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to sixth place. Loser Lleida Basquet keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Palma. Leyma Basquet will meet higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lleida Basquet will play against Marin (#18) and hope to secure a win.
