Regular Season Round 28: Marin - Palencia 74-84

Very predictable result when third ranked Palencia Baloncesto (19-9) won against on the road bottom-ranked Marin (6-22) 84-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Palencia Baloncesto. Marin managed to win third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by point guard Daniel Rodriguez (182-84) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) supported him with 14 points. Palencia Baloncesto's coach Sergio Garcia Martin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) did not help to save the game for Marin. Guard Andres Miso (198-83) added 17 points for lost side. Four Palencia Baloncesto and five Marin players scored in double figures. Palencia Baloncesto moved-up to second place, which they share with Burgos. Marin lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 22 lost games. Palencia Baloncesto will meet at home Palma (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Marin will play against Lleida Basquet (#9) and hope to secure a win.
