Regular Season Round 3: Kalamunda E.S. - Geraldton B. 84-119

Not a big story in a game when Suns (0-2) were outscored by Buccaneers (2-0) in Kalamunda 119-84 on Saturday. Buccaneers outrebounded Suns 49-37 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American forward Dwayne Benjamin (201-93, college: Oregon) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Brighton Pass (192-95) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Theron Pinker added 16 points in the effort for Suns. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suns' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Buccaneers will face Eagles in Morley in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Suns will play at home against Hawks (#10) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
