Regular Season Round 24: Cornella - Arenys 70-80

Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Arenys and 8th ranked Cornella where Arenys (11-10) beat Cornella (10-11) on the road 80-70. It looked good early as Cornella took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Arenys had a 21-17 second period charge getting the lead and Cornella was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-80. It was a good game for point guard Pau Ruzafa (180) who led his team to a victory with 11 points and 9 assists. British center Connor Tuxford (213-95) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jomari Bradshaw (198-92, college: Florida A&M) replied with 17 points and power forward Oscar Raya (209-89) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. Five Cornella players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arenys moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with Castellbisbal. Cornella at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Arenys will play against JAC Sants (#11) in Barcelona in the next round where they are favorite. Cornella will play on the road against AEC Collblanc in L´Hospitalet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
