Regular Season Round 24: Oxaco - Houthalen 92-83

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Oxaco (17-6) beat 5th ranked Houthalen (14-10) in Boechout 92-83 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 57-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for guard Nick Celis (196-88) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Center Mark De-Meyer (194-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Bart Maesen (198-89) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Dario Clemente (204-86) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Houthalen. Five Oxaco and four Houthalen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oxaco have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-6 record having just two points less than leader Gent Hawks, which they share with Gembo BBC. Loser Houthalen keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Oxaco will face Melsele (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Houthalen will play against Giants B (#8) and hope to win that game.
