Regular Season Round 25: Andorra - Zaragoza 100-92

Very expected game when 12th ranked Zaragoza (8-16) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Andorra (12-11) 100-92 on Saturday. Zaragoza was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-15 charge of Andorra, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Zaragoza was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) fired 27 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. American guard David Walker (197-93, college: Northeastern) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. German forward Robin Benzing (208-89) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Andorra and five Zaragoza players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Andorra maintains eighth place with 12-11 record. Loser Zaragoza dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Andorra will face higher ranked FC Barcelona (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaragoza will play against Gran Canaria (#6) and hope to win that game.
