Regular Season Round 17: Byblos - Louaize 99-85

Rather predictable result when third ranked Byblos (12-5) defeated at home 5th ranked Louaize (9-8) 99-85. The game was mostly controlled by Byblos. Louaize was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Louaize 38-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Byblos players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and French power forward Ali Traore (207-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Byblos players scored in double figures. International guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) came up with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists and American Travis McKie (201-92, college: Wake Forest, agency: Diamond Sports) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Louaize in the defeat. Byblos maintains third place with 12-5 record having four points less than leader Homenetmen. Louaize at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Moutahed. Byblos will play against Tadamon (#8) in Zouk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Louaize will play at home against Hoops Club (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
