Rather expected game when 3rd placed Kordall Steelers (15-9) lost to first ranked Basket Esch (13-11) in Rodange 97-102 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in League. Quite impressive performance for American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording 32 points (made all of his eight free throws). The former international power forward Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: Mass.-Lowell) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Marlin Mason (201-93, college: Cleveland St.) added 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kordall Steelers. Five Basket Esch and four Kordall Steelers players scored in double figures. Basket Esch maintains first place in League with 13-11 record. Newly promoted Kordall Steelers keeps the third position with nine games lost. Basket Esch will face Bascharage (#4) in Kaerjeng in the next round. Kordall Steelers will play on the road against BC Mess in Mondercange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
