No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Viterbo (6-14) defeated on the road 13th ranked Salerno (2-18) 68-56 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Giulia Ciavarella (181-97) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Anna Romagnoli (175-92) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Viterbo's coach Carlo Scaramuccia allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Arianna Meschi (165-97) produced 20 points and power forward Giorgia Assentato (177-99) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Viterbo maintains ninth position with 6-14 record. Salerno lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Viterbo will face higher ranked Udine Delser (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Salerno will play against the league's second-placed Bologna (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
