Second Stage Round 7: Racing - Residence 78-76

Second-ranked Residence (11-13) was very close to win a game against first ranked Racing (22-2) in Luxembourg. Racing managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected easier game. Racing outrebounded Residence 40-27 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) helped adding 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Racing's coach Pit Rodenbourg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) responded with 24 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and forward Ryan Nicholas (201-91, college: Portland) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Residence players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Racing maintains first place in League with 22-2 record. Residence at the other side keeps the second position with 13 games lost. Racing will play against league's second-placed Heffingen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will have a break next round.
