Regular Season Round 3: Whittlesea City - McKinnon C. 61-98

But Whittlesea City was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from McKinnon 98-61 on Saturday night. McKinnon C. forced 20 Whittlesea City turnovers and outrebounded them 50-38 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for naturalized Croatian forward Ivan Platenik (201-83, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) contributed with 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four McKinnon C. players scored in double figures. Jonathan Maybank answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Dominic Bruno added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Whittlesea City. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. McKinnon C. will face Devils (#11) in Werribee in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Whittlesea City will play on the road against Waverley Falcons in Mount Waverley and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
