Regular Season Round 22: Kolossos HH - Aris 85-84

Important game to mention about took place in Rodou. Sixth ranked Kolossos HH (12-10) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Aris (12-10) 85-84 in the game for the fourth place. The hosts were already 15 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 28-12 last quarter charge of Aris cut the lead to 85-84 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Aris 37-21 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (202-84) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Trevor Releford (183-91, college: Alabama) supported him with 11 points and 5 assists. Four Kolossos HH players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) did not help to save the game for Aris. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86) added 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kolossos HH moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and PAOK. Kolossos HH will play against Apollon Patras (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against Kymis (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
