Second Stage Round 9: Eskilstuna - RIG Mark 86-79

Date: March 18, 2017
There was no surprise when 6th ranked RIG Mark (4-12) was defeated on the road by second ranked Eskilstuna (14-2) 86-79. RIG Mark was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 39-29 second half run of Eskilstuna. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to RIG Mark's 38. They outrebounded RIG Mark 46-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Hannes Widell (183-94) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. Guard Ludvig Johansson (177-98) came up with 14 points and 7 assists and forward Oskar Palmquist (192-0) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for RIG Mark in the defeat. RIG Mark's coach Michael Bree rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Eskilstuna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after IK Eos lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in BEHS forts. RIG Mark at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
