Regular Season Round 3: Hornsby S. - Manly Warr. 61-80

There was a minor upset when Spiders (2-1) were smashed by Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (3-2) in Hornsby 80-61 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles outrebounded Spiders 43-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Cale Bulgin contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Joshua Chapman answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Daniel Moser added 20 points in the effort for Spiders. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will face Bankstown Bruins (#6) in Condell Park in the next round. Spiders will play at home against Sydney City Comets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
