Amsterdam was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 25-14 charge of Groningen, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard Lance Jeter (191-88, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Andrew Smith (206-92, college: Liberty) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Groningen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Dimeo Van-Der-Horst (197-91) with 31 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and the former international point guard Aaron Roye (184-88) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-2 record. Amsterdam lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Leeuwarden. Groningen will play against league's second-placed Zwolle at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amsterdam will play against Weert (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
