There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Limoges (6-16) defeated at home 11th ranked Dunkerque (6-16) 77-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 26-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Limoges made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Dunkerque turnovers. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and N'Deye Astou Gaye chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Anais Viale (188-91) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Limoges moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Dunkerque and Roannais. Dunkerque lost fifth consecutive game. Limoges will face higher ranked Bretagne Basket (#3) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
