Very important is a road loss of third ranked Orvieto (15-6) against tenth ranked Virtus Cagliari (8-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Orvieto was defeated by Virtus Cagliari in Cagliari 68-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orvieto. The game was mostly controlled by Virtus Cagliari. Orvieto was better in second period 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Orvieto 43-21 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of British-Portuguese center Lavinia Da-Silva (187-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. The former international guard Elisa Templari (172-89, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) replied with 19 points and guard Greta Brunelli (176-90) added 14 points in the effort for Orvieto. Virtus Cagliari moved-up to ninth place, which they share with San Salvatore. Orvieto at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Virtus Cagliari will play against Alghero (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Orvieto will play against Milano (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
