Espoo Utd (#3) forced the game against Catz Lappeenranta (#2) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 87-95 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 18-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-7. Catz Lappeenranta outrebounded Espoo Utd 52-40 including 16 on the offensive glass. Espoo Utd was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks and American Chandrea Jones (177-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who added 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and international forward Dionne Pounds (175-84, college: Lamar) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Catz Lappeenranta (19-8) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position having five points less than leader HyPo. Newly promoted Espoo Utd keeps the third place with ten games lost.
