Regular Season Round 27: Grindavik - Snaefell 65-77

Dominos League top team - Snaefell (22-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Grindavik (4-23) 77-65. It looked good early as Grindavik took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Snaefell had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Grindavik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-77. Snaefell dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Grindavik's 20. Snaefell forced 24 Grindavik turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) who led her team to a victory scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. International forward Berglind Gunnarsdottir (178-93) helped adding 26 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international center Maria-Ben Erlingsdottir (187-88, college: UTRGV) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Mexican guard Angela Rodriguez (173-91, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Snaefell have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-5 record. Grindavik at the other side stay dead last with 23 lost games. Snaefell will play against league's second-placed Keflavik at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grindavik will play against Stjarnan (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
