Regular Season Round 22: Montbrison - COB Calais 62-56

An interesting game took place in Montbrison where 6th ranked COB Calais (12-10) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Montbrison (10-12) 62-56 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But COB Calais won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montbrison dominated on the defensive end, holding COB Calais to just 7 points in second quarter. Cameroonian Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Montbrison players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Elise Prodhomme (180-89) responded with 12 points and Ornella Bankole (181-97) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Montbrison moved-up to eighth place, which they share with SIG. COB Calais lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Montbrison will face Roannais (#11) in the next round.
