Regular Season Round 24: Mataro - Santfeliuenc 71-65

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Mataro and 12th ranked Santfeliuenc had identical 7-13 record. This time Mataro used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Sant Feliu 71-65 on Sunday night. Santfeliuenc was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 17-7 charge of Mataro, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Santfeliuenc to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Santfeliuenc 48-26 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lluis Molina (190-85) who recorded 24 points and forward Alberto Farfan (193-91) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Mataro (8-13) moved-up to eleventh place in Group C-A, which they share with JAC Sants. Santfeliuenc lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Mataro will face higher ranked Salt (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Santfeliuenc will play against Sant Nicolau (#10) in Sabadell and hope to win that game.
