We should mention about the upset which took place in Malaga, where higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (15-8) lost at home to eleventh ranked Movil Estudiantes (10-14) 66-78 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Unicaja Malaga. The game without a history. Movil Estudiantes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. French Edwin Jackson (190-89, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 27 points and 4 assists for the winners and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Slovenian center Alen Omic (216-92) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Movil Estudiantes moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Fuenlabrada. Loser Unicaja Malaga dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Movil Estudiantes will meet at home higher ranked Baskonia (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Unicaja Malaga will play against the league's second-placed Valencia Basket having rather not much hope for a victory.
