Regular Season Round 48: Shimane SM - Kagawa FA 78-81

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Shimane Magic (38-7) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Kagawa FA (14-32) 81-78. It ended at the same time the 20-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. It was a good game for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Taku Bandoh (185-92) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kagawa FA maintains fifth position with 14-32 record. Shimane Magic at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Kagawa FA are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and is hoping to win this game.
