Regular Season Round 24: JAC Sants - Sant Nicolau 68-70

Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Sant Nicolau and 10th ranked JAC Sants had identical 8-12 record. But JAC Sants was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Sabadell 70-68 on Sunday night. JAC Sants trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-70 at the end of the game. Sant Nicolau dominated on the defensive end, holding JAC Sants to just 6 points in first quarter. The best player for the winners was point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. Guard Albert Ortega (187-90) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Oscar Gonzalez (200-97) who recorded 20 points and Albert Real (189-97) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sant Nicolau (9-12) moved-up to ninth place in Group C-A, which they share with Olivar. Loser JAC Sants dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Sant Nicolau will face Santfeliuenc (#14) in Sant Feliu in the next round where they are favorite. JAC Sants will play on the road against Arenys in Arenys del Mar and hope to win that game.
