Regular Season Round 25: Chieti - Roseto 100-110

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Chieti (9-16) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Roseto (15-10) 110-100 on Sunday. Chieti was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 28 points and 6 assists. Five Roseto players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Trae Golden (188-91, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 8 assists and the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-81) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Chieti's coach Maurizio Bartocci rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Roseto maintains sixth place in A2 with 15-10 record. Loser Chieti keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Roseto will face higher ranked F.Kontatto BO (#5) in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chieti will play on the road against Recanati (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
