There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Agropoli (7-18) edged on the road 4th placed Latina Basket (14-11) 84-81 on Sunday. Agropoli made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Latina Basket turnovers. Latina Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Mattia Soloperto (208-80) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Agropoli players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Roberto Rullo (193-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Agropoli moved-up to fourteenth place in A2. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. Agropoli will face higher ranked Rieti (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
