Regular Season Round 16: Tadamon - Sagesse 77-90

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Sagesse (5-11) beat 7th ranked Tadamon (5-11) in Zouk 90-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sagesse. Tadamon managed to win third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tadamon 44-33 including a 35-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Sagesse especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford, agency: SDJ Sports) supported him with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Tadamon. Australian-South Sudanese forward Deng Deng (203-92, college: Baylor) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Tadamon players scored in double figures. Sagesse moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Tadamon. Tadamon lost sixth consecutive game. Sagesse will meet at home higher ranked Al Moutahed (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tadamon will play against Mayrouba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
