Regular Season Round 24: Martorell - Barna 88-79

Very predictable result when second ranked Martorell (15-6) beat at home 13th ranked Barna (7-14) 88-79 on Sunday. Martorell forced 20 Barna turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Ruben Morales (193-85) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Portuguese Henrique Onofre (189-94) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Marc Rabaseda (182-93) who recorded 17 points and 5 assists and guard Victor Pla (187-87) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Martorell maintains second position in Group C-A with 15-6 record having just fifteen point less than leader Meridiano Baza. Newly promoted Barna keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Martorell will face Castelldefels (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barna will play against Menorca and hope to win that game.
