Very expected game in Hod Hasharon where 10th ranked Galil Gilboa (10-13) was defeated by third ranked Bnei Hasharon (14-9) 76-66. It looked good early as Galil Gilboa took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bnei Hasharon took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. Galil Gilboa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. International forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St., agency: Three Eye Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Galil Gilboa. Bnei Hasharon maintains third place with 14-9 record having just three points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Newly promoted Galil Gilboa dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon and Ironi Nahariya. Bnei Hasharon will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galil Gilboa will play against Hapoel Eilat and hopes to get back on the winning track.
