Regular Season Round 25: Udine APU - Alma Trieste 88-70

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Udine APU (11-14) beat at home 4th placed Alma Trieste (16-9) 88-70 on Sunday. They outrebounded Alma Trieste 37-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. Nigerian-American swingman Stan Okoye (198-91, college: VMI) stepped up and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Estonian guard Rain Veideman (192-91) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Udine APU players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jordan Parks (201-94, college: N.C.Central, agency: Two Points) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Javonte Green (193-93, college: Radford, agency: Duran International) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Udine APU moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Alma Trieste keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Udine APU will face higher ranked Mantova (#7) in Mirandola in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alma Trieste will play at home against the league's leader Virtus Bologna having rather not much hope for a victory.
