Regular Season Round 23: Maccabi Haifa - Maccabi K/G 99-78

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Maccabi K/G (4-19) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Maccabi Haifa (12-11) 99-78. The game without a history. Maccabi Haifa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Maccabi Haifa players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Maccabi K/G's players. International swingman Amit Simhon (198-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (180-86, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 14 points and 9 assists for the winners. Five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. Coach Ofer Rahimi's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points in the effort for Maccabi K/G. Maccabi Haifa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 12-11 record. Maccabi K/G lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Maccabi Haifa will play against Ironi Nahariya (#8) on the road in the next round. Maccabi K/G will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
