There was no surprise in Bahia Blanca where 8th ranked La Union (19-24) was crushed by third ranked Weber Bahia (22-15) 99-63 on Wednesday. Weber Bahia dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 44. Weber Bahia forced 21 La Union turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Jerel Blocker (193-88, college: Lee) fired 25 points for the winners. The other American import center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four Weber Bahia players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Facundo Pinero (200-88) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Weber Bahia maintains third position with 22-15 record having eleven points less than leader San Lorenzo. Loser La Union keeps the eighth place with 24 games lost. Weber Bahia will face Argentino (#5) in Junin in the next round. La Union will play at home against the league's second-placed Ferrocarril and hope to win that game.
