Regular Season Round 27: Caxias do Sul - Paulistano 80-82

Thirteenth-ranked Caxias do Sul (6-20) made lots of trouble for ninth ranked Paulistano (13-12) on Wednesday. The visitors from Sao Paolo managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was point guard George Lucas (195-96) who scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Guilherme Hubner (208-87) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Caxias do Sul players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Paulistano moved-up to eighth place. Loser Caxias do Sul dropped to the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Paulistano will face Vasco Da G. (#10) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round. Caxias do Sul will play at home against Liga Sorocaba (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
