Regular Season Round 6: Marinos - Guaros 99-88

Date: March 22, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Marinos' (3-5) home victory over 5th ranked Guaros (2-4) in Puerto La Cruz 99-88 on Wednesday. Marinos made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Guaros were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Juan Herrera (197-81) contributed with 17 points for the winners. International Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) added 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Guaros. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Guaros' coach Jorge Arrieta tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Marinos moved-up to third place, which they share with Gaiteros. Loser Guaros dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Marinos will face Gaiteros (#3) in Maracaibo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Guaros will play at home against the league's leader Bucaneros and hope to win that game.
