Regular Season Round 42: Lucenec - Kosice 63-86

SBL top team - Kosice (31-6) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Lucenec (17-21) 86-63. Kosice dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Lucenec's 32. The former international forward Stanislav Baldovsky (192-89) notched 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Serbian guard Radenko Pilcevic (188-86, agency: AproK Sports Group) supported him with 13 points and 7 assists. Kosice's coach Richard Lesko felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Aaron Rountree-III (203-93, college: Iona) did not help to save the game for Lucenec. Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kosice have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-6 record. Lucenec lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Handlova. Kosice will play against Levice (#4) at home in the next round. Lucenec will play against Handlova in MBK Handlova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
