Bottom-ranked Macae managed to get a sixth victory on Wednesday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Universo/Vitoria in Salvador 90-84. Macae made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 assists. Guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) helped adding 17 points. Four Macae players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) with 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Arthur Silva (196-82) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Macae (6-19) moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Universo/Vitoria keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Pinheiros. Macae will meet higher ranked SKY/Basquete (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Universo/Vitoria will play against the league's leader Flamengo (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
