Regular Season Round 42: Nitra - Iskra Svit 73-89

Very expected game when 11th ranked Nitra (3-34) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Iskra Svit (21-18) 89-73 on Wednesday. Iskra Svit dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 28 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) who recorded 30 points and Roman Skvasik (193-96) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Iskra Svit maintains sixth position with 21-18 record. Nitra lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 34 lost games. Iskra Svit will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play against Nova Ves (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
