An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Salamanca. First ranked Perfumerias Avenida faced their biggest opponent Argon Uni Girona. Host Perfumerias Avenida (24-1) defeated guests from Girona (21-4) 67-60. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Argon Uni Girona won fourth quarter 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perfumerias Avenida dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Argon Uni Girona's 26. Perfumerias Avenida forced 26 Argon Uni Girona turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Alana Beard (185-82, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 4 steals. Serbian Jelena Milovanovic (190-89, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American Ifunanya Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Greek forward Artemis Spanou (188-93, college: Robert Morris) added 14 points in the effort for Argon Uni Girona. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 24-1 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will play against bottom-ranked Gran Canaria (#14) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Argon Uni Girona will play on the road against Gipuzkoa UPV (#7) in San Sebastian and hopes to get back on the winning track.
