Regular Season Round 27: Minas - Bauru 77-89

Date: March 23, 2017
There was no surprise in Belo Horizonte where 12th ranked Minas (8-17) was defeated by fourth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (17-9) 89-77 on Thursday. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Minas' coach Luiz Fernando Nery Leao tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Paschoalotto/Bauru maintains fourth place with 17-9 record. Minas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will face higher ranked Brasilia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Minas will play against Vivo/Franca (#5) and hope to win that game.
