Regular Season Round 49: Kumamoto V. - Kagoshima 91-67

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Kagoshima (6-42) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Kumamoto V. (37-11) 91-67 on Friday. Kumamoto V. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Hiroshi Fujita (190-92) scored 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 37-11 record having just five point less than leader Shimane SM. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 42 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
