Regular Season Round 4: Lakeside L. - Mandurah M. 86-79

There was no surprise in North Lake where 9th ranked Magic (1-1) was defeated by seventh ranked Lightning (1-2) 86-79 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Magic won second period 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Magic 46-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Devon Atkinson (185, college: Morehead St.) who added 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Taylor Mullenax (200-86, college: St.Edward's) responded with 34 points (!!!) and Damon Ballantyne produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Magic players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Lightning went down to eleventh position (League) due to points difference. Loser Magic dropped to the tenth place with one game lost. Lightning will face Suns (#14) in Kalamunda in the next round.
