Very predictable result when second ranked Tortona (18-8) outscored at home 7th ranked Agrigento (14-12) 82-61 on Friday. They outrebounded Agrigento 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 23 points and 5 assists. Forward Giampaolo Ricci (201-91) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Tortona's coach Demis Cavina felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Perrin Buford (198-94, college: Middle Tenn.St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Damen Bell-Holter (206-90, college: ORU) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Tortona maintains second position in A2 with 18-8 record having just two points less than leader Angelico Biella. Loser Agrigento keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. Tortona will face Novipiu Casale (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Agrigento will play against FCM Ferentino and hope to win that game.
