Regular Season Round 4: Geelong S. - BA CoE 97-68

The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Geelong Supercats as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Geelong Supercats smashed top-ranked BA CoE at home 97-68. Geelong Supercats dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BA CoE's 40. Geelong Supercats forced 19 BA CoE turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Ma'Alo Hicks (201-89) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by power forward Samson Froling (207-0) did not help to save the game for BA CoE. Center Mate Colina (208-99) added 9 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. BA CoE's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they took over a top position. BA CoE at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. BA CoE will play next round against Kilsyth Cobras trying to get back on the winning streak. Geelong Supercats will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Ballarat Miners at Wendouree.
