Regular Season Round 4: Stirling S. - Rockingham F. 79-81

Date: March 25, 2017
There was a minor upset in Perth where higher ranked Stirling S. (1-1) was edged by eleventh ranked Flames (1-1) 81-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Stirling S. outrebounded Flames 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Donovon Jack (206-93, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ryan Godfrey (187-90, college: W.Georgia) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Ashley Litterick (202) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Stirling S.'s coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Flames left bottom position moving up to eighth place in League. Flames will face higher ranked Wanneroo (#3) in Joondalup in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
