Regular Season Round 2: Kalamunda E.S. - Perry Lakes H. 59-84

Date: March 25, 2017
Very expected game when Suns (0-2) were smashed by Hawks (2-0) in Kalamunda 84-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hawks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 26. Hawks forced 22 Suns turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Suns' players. New Zealand guard Antonia Edmondson (181-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Power forward Jennie Rintala (-90) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Rachel Brooks added 16 points in the effort for Suns. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks will face Cougars (#10) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play at home against Redbacks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
