Heidelberg topped Bad Hombur for the opening victory. The game was mostly controlled by BasCats Heidelberg. Homburger TG was better in fourth quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Homburger TG 56-27 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Homburger TG helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and center Viktoria Krell (183-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Elena Popkey (168-94, college: Oakland) came up with 16 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Celia Marfone (183-94, college: Cal-Davis) added 12 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) respectively for Homburger TG in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
