Regular Season Round 23: Bretagne Basket - Limoges 87-63

There was no surprise in Pleyber-Christ where 13th ranked Limoges (6-17) was crushed by third ranked Bretagne Basket (16-7) 87-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bretagne Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Limoges' 20. Bretagne Basket forced 23 Limoges turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for guard Marie Butard (174-86) who led her team to a victory scoring 9 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. American forward Amanda Dowe (193-91, college: Charlotte) helped adding 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Bretagne Basket's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Chloe Mantelin (169-97) scored 16 points. Bretagne Basket maintains third place with 16-7 record having four points less than leader Avenir. Loser Limoges dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Dunkerque and Roannais. Bretagne Basket will meet league's leader Avenir in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Limoges will play against Arras (#4) and hope to secure a win.
