Regular Season Round 49: Fukushima - Iwate Big Bulls 75-83

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Fukushima (26-21) against sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (11-36) on Saturday night. Host Fukushima was defeated by Iwate Big Bulls in a tough game in Fukushima 75-83. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 28. They outrebounded Fukushima 47-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 25 points and 11 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Shota Kanno (187-92) scored 21 points. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls maintains sixth place with 11-36 record. Loser Fukushima keeps the second position with 21 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
